Led by audiologist Kevin Carlyon, whose career in hearing care spans more than 30 years, Plymouth Hearing Care combines extensive industry and clinical experience with a personal approach to hearing assessments, hearing aids, ongoing aftercare and specialist ear care
Kevin Carlyon - Audiologist & Clinical Director
Kevin's career began in sales and marketing in the engineering
and pharmaceutical sectors before discovering audiology in 1994. Travelling throughout the UK supplying hearing test equipment
to industry, hospitals and private clinics soon developed into a
lifelong passion for helping people to hear better.
After two decades of working across all areas of the hearing care profession: including holding senior management roles with a
leading hearing aid manufacturer and US tinnitus device company, Kevin established Plymouth Hearing Centre in 2015 (now Plymouth Hearing Care). Since then he has helped thousands of people
across Plymouth and the surrounding area, building trusted relationships through honest advice, personalised care and
ongoing support.
Away from work, Kevin enjoys year-round sea swimming, sea
fishing, working on his boat, keeping fit & travelling with his wife
Betina. A lifelong supporter of Liverpool FC, he attended his first match aged 6.
Yasmin Green
Yasmin joined Plymouth Hearing Care as a Student Hearing Aid Dispenser and is currently completing her professional training in Hearing Aid Audiology.
Alongside her studies, Yasmin is developing her clinical skills within the practice, gaining experience in hearing assessments, hearing aid technology and patient care under appropriate supervision. She has a particular ability to put people at ease and takes time to listen and understand the individual concerns of each person she sees.
Yasmin brings a BSc (Hons) degree together with previous experience in healthcare and customer-facing roles. Her calm, friendly approach and natural ability to build rapport make her a valued member of the Plymouth Hearing Care team.
As her training progresses, Yasmin continues to develop her knowledge of hearing loss, hearing assessment and the different technologies available to help people hear and communicate more effectively.
Outside the practice, Yasmin enjoys travelling and has a real sense of adventure. She loves spending time outdoors, walking her dog Otis and trying new experiences — including skydiving.
Helen Sargent
At Plymouth Hearing Care, Helen provides specialist ear wax removal using microsuction with high-magnification ENT microscopes, allowing excellent visualisation of the ear canal throughout the procedure.
Helen's extensive experience, careful approach and reassuring manner are particularly valuable for clients who may be nervous about ear wax removal or who have experienced difficulties with wax removal previously.
Helen works with Plymouth Hearing Care specifically in her role as an Ear Care Specialist. Her clinics are focused on ear care and ear wax removal and do not include general nursing advice or other nursing duties.

Kevin is regulated by the HCPC & his registration can be checked on their professional register. Kevin & Yasmin hold additional professional memberships to keep abreast of the latest audiological developments.
